Why does Obama call his preacher greatest preacher in the country?

When his preacher praises Louis Farrakhan and calls him one of americas great men and gives him an award. Couldnt you see the pain in his eyes when he had to denounce him on tv but didnt he know he had to in order to further the muslim cause?
