My 2 year old rabbit is shedding alot?

well lately my 2 year old male lop eared bunny has been shedding allot more then he usualy dose this time of year wen i pet him or hold him i get covered in fur what the heck is this much shedding normal his cage is covered in fur around round his fur i have been bagging his fur that hes loosing incase i have to tak him to the vet
